koni/kings are a nice plush street setup. Or soft and compliant coilovers like an MCA or similar that arent just the same valving in a different strut.
camber pins front or camber/castor top is up to you.
I’m sure it’s been done on here somewhere but am just asking for opinions on suspension for my st185 celica.
I have a set of king springs ktfs 51 at 290lb (or whatever the metric equivalent is) I was thinking of using these springs and getting some bilstein struts or alternatively bilstein inserts?
What is the normal way of doing suspension on these?
I’d probably rather not go coilovers due to the fact of it being a ‘nice’ street car and I’ve got enough track orientated toys

Cool I was thinking of talking to mca, it may be the option. I was always a fan of koni’s (I gave them in 3 of my current cars) but recently I’ve driven some superb cars setup with bilsteins... hence that was my idea. I was going to check out camber pins... but only use the tops if absolutely necessary, I’ve not been a fan of putting neg on up the top...but this is on other cars... the celica may act differently.

The gt4 will react nicely with a lot more castor too and even with offset castor bushes in the LCA you're gonna want more. This means strut tops unfortunately. But....you can wind in castor and no camber and still wind the camber in at the hub using a bolt. Whiteline 14mm camber bolt i think is the right size. Try and find Classique's ST185 thread or MWPs thread on here. There's some good info in there for all things st185

Cool thanks, didn’t contemplate castor but that makes plenty of sense

Yeah, the common thing is to rotate the strut top so that when you wind in neg camber you also get castor wound in - this is if you have tops that are linear, But if you were to get something like a kmac top that is free to move in all directions then you're right to just to wind in castor.

Again thanks for your insight... while you’re at it what’s your view on wheel and tyre size?

17 x 8 +35 with 235/40/17 fits quite well.
25mm spacers on the rear, and a bit of guard rolling and you're sweet
