Have a look at the following page,
It details how each of the pins you talk about (BATT, M-REL, +B, +B1, etc) should be wired!
It doesn't sound correct currently. Also if you use a multimeter, you will find that +B and +B1 are joined inside the ECU... Two pins were used by Toyota to allow more current. It will most likely work with only 1 pin, but it isn't how it was designed....
