    Default 3sgte gen 2 injectors. how much power?

    did a search but came up short.
    how much power at the engine can a gen2 3sgte make before the stock injectors are at their full duty cycle?? also how much more if i used the gen 3 injectors (530 cc i think).

    I've got a really good article from a US car mag with heaps of info on a gen2 3s in a MR2 and what they did to go from about 150hp to 500ish hp at the wheels (its all on a dyno jet so figures are a little high) i'll post a link up here when I find it again.

    It depends largely on what air fuel ratios you end up running and what fuel pressure you have behind the injectors. At a ruff guess i'd say 200rwkws from 440cc's would be about the limit.
    I think gen3's have 540cc so they would be good for 1.22 times that or 245rw kws at the same fuel pressure.

    Drivetrain losses are probably about 20% for a 2wd a bit more for a 4wd so you can work backwards from that to find approximate engine power.

    depends on what you call maxed out as well some people like to keep it under 90% others are happy to go to 100% if the tune is still rich

    u can buy sard 63517 800cc. direct fit side feeds $250 to $450 on ebay for a set of 4.shop around they should see you out ,i have them in a GT35r supported 2nd. gen. 3SGTE

    sweeet, how do you find the gt35r? i was think of going with the biggest gt30r seeing as though i havent got to buy a wastegate on top of the cost of the turbo.
    if i can make full boost by 3500rpms ish that would be good

    keep in mind a few things...

    Stock injectors, are accepted to make 275rwhp in an mr2. Thats at 100%, (which is right when you work out to be 320hp at the flywheel).


    Next thing to keep in mind, is the stock fuel rail is not designed to flow a large amount of fuel, and larger injectors increase the problem substantially, which can and will cause major lean out issues on cylinder 3 and 4. So buyer beware.

    this is tru ,a simple conversion to duel feed fuel rail is a bonus, millsi if u are after a gt30 internal gate turbo pm me.

    i can tell you for a gt4

    170 AWKW - 97.6% duty cycle ..

    or about 230KW at the fly - on a rough estimate

    hence the upgrade to larger requres fuel rail changes as lance said to hanfdle the bigger injectors , via boring , duel or center fulelling and better FP regulators ( or a custom rail )

    if u go 550cc. inj max on a gt4 is 230kw ,www.wolfkatz.comin the usa do a rail or i can supply the info to get it done local

    standard rails arn't bad, but definately ain't the best. Larger pumps cause a bit of a problem as well.

    ways to get around it
    a) bore out rail to 8-9mm.
    b) dual feed or centre feed modification
    c) buy a new rail (wolfkatz = the best)
    d) any combination of the above

    i used option a) & b) feed both ends & used the cold start port for the return , or c) is good if your not handy

    I've been thinking of doing this as well. So you stick the FPR in the cold start fitting, and run a fuel line to both ends hey? How do you have the fuel feed lines set up at the fuel filter end?

    The only problem with boring is that you minimise the rail material, which can cause cracking if you push the pressure too much, or you take out too much material.
