I've got a really good article from a US car mag with heaps of info on a gen2 3s in a MR2 and what they did to go from about 150hp to 500ish hp at the wheels (its all on a dyno jet so figures are a little high) i'll post a link up here when I find it again.
It depends largely on what air fuel ratios you end up running and what fuel pressure you have behind the injectors. At a ruff guess i'd say 200rwkws from 440cc's would be about the limit.
I think gen3's have 540cc so they would be good for 1.22 times that or 245rw kws at the same fuel pressure.
Drivetrain losses are probably about 20% for a 2wd a bit more for a 4wd so you can work backwards from that to find approximate engine power.

depends on what you call maxed out as well some people like to keep it under 90% others are happy to go to 100% if the tune is still rich
