    Default 18RG Fuel Delivery

    Hi guys,

Im sure this has been covered off but no matter what i search for i cant find the answer, i think im also being a bit blonde and struggling a bit with a tired mind.

Anyway im trying to get my 18rg started in my RA23 rebuild and i can get it to crank, but there is no fuel! I ripped the noisy electric pump off for the time being and am just trying to get the mechanical pump going but i cant figure out the input and outputs to save my life right now...

I figure that the input is on the left hand side with the pump attached to the motor and the 2 other outputs go to a carby each, is this right? or does 1 feed both carbs and if so, from what side?

If the carbs are only fed by 1 output, where does the other go?

Im scratching my head here fellas and could really use some help!

    Thanks in advance

    Jarrad

Just checking, what engine? The 18rgeu dummy shaft doesn't have the mechanical pump cam lobe to actuate the mechanical pump.

Does the electric fuel pump suck fuel from the tank? (To rule out blocked fuel line)

I cant recall the fue pump connections but I'll check the green tonight if no one has confirmed by then

Facet pumps are noisy as shit. Even rubber isolated it was shit. Throw it away. So shit!

There are other pumps which are way quieter but i can't remember the name of them atm. They're a little low pressure rotary pump, so annoying i can't remember.

Carter P4070 is probably the go. Rotary vane in-line fuel pump built to military specs and delivering 72 gph at 4 to 6 psi, which is about right for sidedraught carbies.
