W series gearboxes can be bolted to the T series engines. The 3TGTE had a W55 box behind it standard.

Sweet so i gotta find a 3TGTE bellhousing?
Cheers
Or a 1G bellhousing with minor mods, which will be a lot more common in Oz that the proper one. Apparently you can get $150 US + freight for the genuine ones in the States.

Whats "minor mods" entail?
1G bellhousing bolts up no issues
I have one on my 2T with w57. No mods required.
Can get pics if you want?
I "heard" that one bolt hole didn't line up, but Grega has actually done it so go with his advice.

i think you might have heard right actually callum come to think of it.
i'll check and have a look. been a long time since i put it together
expect pics soon
To confirm the G and M bellhousings are different... right?

chris - dunno. i'd reckon so...
any heres my T motor to G bellhousing
the one with my finger pointing looks like there may have been a bolt there, but, theres the one above it and the one below it to hold it in place, so overly don't believe this is a problem.
i guess i just get a G series bell housing and find out what needs to be done.
dude, with mine, i used the 3TG flywheel on my 2T motor with clutch setup from meridian motorsport (thanks toby) as its much lighter, used the G series bellhousing as it puts the starter on the passenger side (as per pics) - the T series bell i had put it on the driver side - and yeah away we go.....if you're really bothered by it you could get an "ear" migged onto the bell, have it surfaced to pickup that extra bolt but i don't think its worth it theres enough to go around already![]()
I have been sent pics of the T and G bellhousings together, but can't access them at work. Will try to post them up tonight.
Callum
hmm.. i've sent two BH's to the US so far.. 1 1G, and 1 3TGTE.....
both cost around $150 in australia...
