Default Anyone heard of MagicCat Converters?

Was reading an old auto mag today and came across an add for MagicCat Conveters

    http://www.magiccat.com.au/

The website is lacking to say the least and doesn't provide anything that wasn't in the add I read. Has anyone seen / heard about / used one of these before?

I'm pretty sure a friend of mine used one on his girlfriends soarer as the exhaust he got from japan didn't have a cat. I havent heard any negative reviews from him.

ok, matt from magic performance either imports them or makes them.

thats right, matt that owns HYPO77 australias fastest slick tires 1jzgte

ta22 celica, its a work of art.

grant warne the editor of zoom magazine tested his usual 3 inch high flow cat against a 4 inch magic cat, with out any other changes he picked up 40 hp at the tyres.

so its was a back to back test.

i will certainly be running one in the future, they meet usa emissions standards which are 4 gas as apposed to our 3 gas ones so they are better for the environment aswell.

now this info is good stuff guys

    use it

Didn't that also raise the boost pressure by 3psi or so, which accounts for 90% of that 40hp increase.

40hp from 3psi is still pretty impressive.

i was just talking to grant actually and there was no boost increase, they made sure the boost was the same and used the guage in the car and another one off a seperate reference point to verify, the difference was the increased air flow.

Hmmm, the article I remember reading definately stated a boost increase.
    Can't remember the levels though.

Can't find the article, but it could have been Metal Cats not Magic Cats

40hp gain from what to what? ie. what % is that?

If that is the case, then why is it that when ever anyone brings up running no cat at all, people say there is SFA to be gained? Surely no cat would flow better than a 4" cat.

as i say spoke to him on the phone today about it and he told me specifically no boost increase it came from increased flow. common sense would certainly have us thinking less restriction more boost, but he wanted a real comparison so.

    Thanks Shane.

Cruz: if that is correct that is a sheetload more power from just a different cat.
I don't think I could physically fit a 4" cat under my car anyway
