So ive got most of my parts together and been doing lots of reserch but still dont competely have my head wrapped arround it all.
Im converting ra28 struts using a t3 kit with 200mm springs roller bearing hats and st185 exel g's for a KE70. Now all the reserch ive done people are cutting 40mm and using a 20mm+/- in the bottom. Im not opposed to doing this but i feel it may makes the car a bit low.
So my question is i want about a 40-50mm drop ideally, So with a 20mm spacer in the bottom and about 50mm shorter damper giving an optomal lowerd ride height 70mm lower than standard?
So asuming i want the car lowerd by the amount of stroke ive lost with the shorter insert is there any need to cut the struts down at all?
Im probably missing something really simple, ive had a pretty good search and cant find much about using standard lenth struts So Im asuming there a reason.
Thanks
Mitch
A 40mm cut and 20mm spacer accommodates an insert 60mm shorter that stock. The ride height is set by the spring, and a drop of 40-50mm on a standard length strut will have the car either on the bumpstops or damn close. At least that is how it works on an AE86 and I don't think the RA28/KE70 will be much different.
Maybe this will help...
