Default trd short stroke into raXX

can anyone tell me if a trd blue short stroke rear shock will fit and work in a ra23 or 28? how low would you have to go to make it work properly?

Well there's both full length case and short AE93/fwd celica body short strokes you can get. If the strut diam is 52mm one either will work, but most using the short shocks cut down the struts and convert to coilovers. You can space the AE93 shocks at the base with a stack of 50c pieces or a machined spacer to run the AE93 in the full height body, but from most accounts without RCA's and cutting down the struts they don't handle as well.

They should work fine in the rear. Most of the early RWD 70's and 80's rear end shocks are much the same in size, just there valving changes based on the weight of the car.

Mat, my ra28 uses short stroke AE86 tokico HTS102's. The lower shock mounts need to be moved considerably from what would be the stock position with the stock diff (hilux now). Photo's in my build thread maybe.

IMO AE86 are similar enough to be a reasonable match valving wise for rear shocks for an RA.
