From what I've been able to read on earlier threads the Altezza stuff needs some modifications but what I do not know. Same threads show hilux and supra f series are direct fit. Also tru-trac is a nice affordable option.
Hey, I want to upgrade my diff to LSD. Currently have f292 IRS. Based on my research I'm under the impression that this will fit - TRD 41301-RA010 ALTEZZA SXE10 98.10- 3S-GE,1G-FE.
Is this correct?
Cheers
J.

Cheers. I'll keep searching. I need it for drift trying to avoid OEM and truetrack. In the meantime if anyone knows what mods would need to be made it would be much appreciated.
think I found what I'm after. Post 24 of this thread. Looks like it will fit with slight mod if needed.

Have you thought about using a mechanical locker ?
Im thinking about using a Spartan locker, they are little noisy.
I have a lokka lock right mechanical in mine, def a little noisey, but cheap and work. Cant beat positive drive to both wheels.
whats the lokka like in car parks? does it chirp? i was thinking of getting one of these instead of a 2-way....
Destroyer of 'Drop Forged' spanners
Hi,
It unlocks with no load/feedback. No chirps unless you try. I have found with irs backlash it can make some interesting noise's and twangs! With light driving and slipping the clutch in a car park it's fine. It was something i had to get used to driving on the street, back off for a corner, roll around before i came back on throttle or it would lock instantly and try to go sideways.
I'm running an Altezza Kaaz 2way in an F series live axle head. set it up for 120 breaking torque and 80 continuous which chirps a little when cold. Pulled it straight from an altezza housing, swapped the ring gear over to the one from my head, (use the narrower altezza side bearings on an altezza lsd, from memory needs to be 150mm outside to outside of side bearings), and dropped it in. The live axle was simple to setup due to adjustable side nuts. IRS uses shims so if it's not bang on to start with, you'll need to mess around with side shim thicknesses to get correct tooth contact and lash.
By using the existing gears and housing together, ive yet to need to adjust pinion bearing shims in any of the diffs i've converted including an altezza torsen to live axle.
Some people say there's an offset issue in some sort of combination where the lsd needs to be offset excessively for correct tooth contact. The live axle side nuts can account for it, not sure on IRS?

What F series live diff are you running? As I am toying with using a MA61 LSD in a Crown.
Cheers Brett.
I've fitted an Altezza LSD (Tomei 2way) to an MS112 Crown diff. A long time ago now, but there were no hassles on the way.
Possibly some minor ones finding out if I needed the Crown or Altezza bearings for the centre, but nothing serious in any case.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
live axle from a corona RT132 2000GT (jdm). identical diff to the US ma46 mk1 supra. Now in a ke70 sr coupe.
MA61 irs lsd can be improved by swapping the middle clutch plate to one with teeth on the inside so it runs on the side shaft. IRS lsd actually only use one plate per side so they're a bit of a joke. The live axle version lsd in cr30 4wd masterace surf have the better plates. I have a CAD drawing of it somewhere if people want to make em. We once did a batch using stainless hardened to 50 something Rc to match the originals.
