sorry Jezza hehe
a WTFBBQ and Beat Yian Go Kart event sounds good to me. seems like most of the classic celica guys are on holidays at the moment, but i'm pretty sure 22 Jan will be fine. let me check though. if it falls on Lunar New Year, i'll be stuck with some family duties.
Oh yeah... Chinese New Year in sometime in January isnt it? Bugga....Originally Posted by da_horse

What about a day that's a general meet, cruise and go-kart day? There are places around Melbourne that will cater for a "corporate" type day where you pay a set fee for unlimited amount of laps and/or time.
I know some of the Classic Celica crew are looking for a change next time, as a lot of members have expressed interest in a large cruise.
I reckon a Toymods Go-Karting day would be awesome...anyone interested in getting this off the ground?
I'm all for a general day of go-karting... but having unlimited laps/whole day etc would cost a packet, would it not? Even on the previously organised karting days, not everyone actually participated. The cost + lack of peeps going would make it kinda costly.
Just a thought?

The last place we went to was $50 for a 6-12pm session. It wasn't the best place, but it was good value for money.
What do you guys think? An outdoor karting session would be great, but no doubt it's costly too. Has anyone been to the place in Sunshine and know any of the prices?

Anyway - 21st theres a big show and shine here in colac followed by a short GOR type cruise on the 22nd ( yes colac has a big show and shine oddly enough - its one of the biggest rural type hot rod and new stuff shows in the state ) so i wont be able to attend a 22nd meet - a suggestion for anyone wanting to cruise down for a loo though is open to any takers - id love to see a few of you boys come down and put on a bit of bling for the locals yokels
AAANNYYWAY - the next weekend after that the WVCC ( west vic cruise club ) are going to organise a small GOR hills run as well - so looks like ill go to that one also to show em around - seeing im the local local
So far feb's free for anything ATM - theres a heathcoate drag day planned mid month ( which we still need some entrys for i believe )- and another show and shine on in warnambool - so if january doesnt work out - ill be up for some carting i hope in early feb at the " earliest "

I'm in Perth for most of Jan and half of Feb, but after that I'd happily organise a go-kart day if one hasn't already happened..
Last time I went to Sunshine it was around $70 for two 10minute practice sessions and a 15minute race. Doesn't sound too long, but after 15 minutes behind the wheel you are rooted. I'd imagine most big, outdoor tracks are around this price.
Hen
Yo gang,
I don't mind organising the BBQ (as it seems to be my forte) but the location is undesirable considering that its out in the SE and the Karts are in Sunshine (is this confirmed?)
Otherwise if people here don't mind a little cruise down then i would propose the old venue at Brickmakers.
Lemme know if you need a hand.
-Jay
Yeah Jay, Brickmakers sounds good, I think a cruise from there to Sunshine isn't that bad.. From memory it's about 45 mins to 1 hour from Oakleigh.
Kev.
RIP Kev. You'll be missed.

Yeah when you put it that way when Henn used to drive from Rosanna to hang out with us
Thanks Henn, u da bomb. Any objections?

Hey Guys.
Stu, Nah i didnt buy simons junka! Thats my car, i have had it for about 18months.
Ok so with all the hektik activities revolving around our major city of Colac, it looks like we should be organising this for february sometime yeah??
How about the first weekend of feb? Sunday the 5th of Feb?
But as Yian has mentioned we should make sure that there is enough peeps for us so it is as cost effective as possible.
I also dont think driving between places is an issue because its like a mini cruisee for us all, as long as its well communicated so people dont get lost and we waste time with that.
So, Brickmakers park and Go Karts at Somerton was it?
Cheers Gents,
Jez
lol - january is rodeo - show and shine and some other fantastic yehaw country events
feb isgood for me to go to melb for anything at this stage .. nothing booked in as yet unless i have to go have surgery

brickmakers to somerton? thats at least a good 30-40min drive yeah? i'd rather have it somewhere relatively closer to the go kart place so that we can eat, and chill while digesting and then hit the track.
i know with most of our bbq's by the time we're done not many people would like to be in a rush to get to a place yonkers away. jezza, let me have a look for a few places close up that area. might be good for a change of places.
what do u guys think? i'm usually happy as a pig in mud, or a horse in whatever after lunch but which ever it turns out i'll be there.
