    barned01 .. good question mate..

You are correct in saying now that I have gone to a KE70/AE86 front end I do infact have bumpsteer.

When I had my custom TA23 R&P front end, I designed it in a paralelogram fashion and had 0 bump steer. The beauty of designing stuff yourself!

The problem with the TA23 setup was lack of ackerman. Which while driving was fine, resulted in a real shitty turning circle. I couldn't correct this without cutting a far bit away of the xmember and all started to look like a bit too much fabrication at the time.

The AE86/KE70 front end obvisouly doesn't have this akerman problem as its all factory.

The ultimate would be using the ae86/ke70 xmember as the basis, and repositioning the lower control arms. Then you have good ackerman and can get 0 bump steer.

i would suggest having a group buy of the adjustable control arm bolts...

    these things;

for memory, the brand is called "fortuna" and they are a brisbane based engineering company. fulcrum do deal these products so if your good, you might be able to squeeze out of them, the name of the manufacturer. i think fulcrum were looking for about $120 for a pair.

i managed to correct 1deg of + camber with them.

i can't see the product costing more than $30 to make to by the company.....probly just mega markup at fulcrum

similar to how mwp moved the rack closer to the crossmember by notching it slightly?

the hole for the control arm mount on the xmember is slotted, then there is a slotted plate that is tacked to the xmember. the bolt that goes through has a flat spot which the 2 eccentric washers are held to the bolt ( cant spin freely).

so yeh, you crack the nut, and turn the bolt, and the whole washer turns with the bolt. this causes the control arm pivot to move in/out.

barned01, thats right you probably need to take 20mm or so out of the xmember and get the rack sitting right into it.

It was all much of a muchness.. Both the TA23 (with r&p) and KE70 xmember need a far few mods to get into the car and setup well.

With the KE70 xmember in there as long as you run RCA's the bump steer isn't too bad, well its as bad as it is from factory anyway which isn't too much.

RT142's and MA61's have them as well. infact all semi trailing arm style IRS have them. its what they use to set the toe in/out. i think they might be a bit thick though, to use on the control arms.

Anybody know if the hole in the middle is the correct size to fit the toyota strut??

I know the three bolts at the top of the s13 strut are spaced at 107mm..

My friend bought some for his sprinter and they needed to be modified to fit his S13 tein's . I think theyre designed for the toyota strut.

Does anyone know if they will sell these without the 3 strut bolts in them?

    hey guys,

well i paid for my set of strut tops this morning so now i eagerly await them turning up, hopefully they will be suitable.

as for the undrilled question - i did ask, at the same time i told him the bolt spacing - that was when i got the reply that the caster adjustable ones should suit. he didnt actually answer if they can be sent undrilled.
