    Thanks for the info.

I was reading fuzzy's build on z20 yesterday and he ran a j160 for a little while, didn't blow up with 240rwkw or so.

How much difference in overall driveability would you say there is over a w58? Even with 4.5 gearing in my soarer I find the gearing poorly matched to the 1G.

Wiki is WRONG! The Honda does NOT use a Aisin AZ6 the case design is COMPLETELY different. See below... the S2000 transmission is on top the other photos are all AZ6 related(2nd pic is J160, 3rd is butchered Miata... Yes Miata, and the bottom view is the S15)

The actual case on the J160 is a bit stouter then the case used for the RX8, Miata, and S15, if you look carefully(in above photo) the J160 has a spine along the top of the case the others don't have.

Here is a recent photo from LEEN showing the S15 bell/front case mounted to an RX8 transmission

the "current" AZ6 user is Toyota with the GT86/FR-S...

in fact the GT86 uses 5 of the 6 gear ratios that the S15 used...
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!

The j160 looks different to all of them the rx8 and s15 look the most similar.

Just to make it clear(er) S2000 gear box is more like a transaxle with a shaft in place of the differential... definately not an AZ6. It also has no 1:1 ratio since the input and output shaft does not lock together like almost all common RWD transmission.

BTW I deleted the S2000 from the application of the AZ6 from the wikipedia page maybe a week ago... now lets stop spreading false info

Thanks for the info. If I stay 1G I'll be doing the 6 speed swap, getting the car dyno'd on the weekend so pending the result I may be going 7M, still weighing up less power/6 speed vs high power/5 speed.
