I would like to get forum member input on the MRP block girdle. Has anyone used it? At what rpm would a girdle be a good option? This is related to the 4AGE 16V/20V engine series. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
The item is for added assurance to make the block less prone to moving around.
It would most likely help for those constantly running 9000rpm+ or big boost in Turbo form.
The hasslegren engines use 2x reinforment bars over #2 & #4 then machined into the block so they fit flush which effectively does a similar job but requires machining.
Many modern engines use girdles standard these days. Prolonges the life of the engine and esp the bearings.
