    Default Increased injector size

I have a hypothetical question. I have a supercharged 2tgeu with larger 440cc injectors which is my daily. The supercharger is going cactus so to keep the car on the road I'm contemplating taking the SC off and bypassing all the air pipe work temporarily till repairs can be completed.

What would be the effect of driving the car with the larger injectors, in an NA configuration without changing the ecu mapping? Sluggish performance or horrible fuel economy?

pretty sure it should be ok, might run a bit ritch, someone might be able to clarify

    aftermarket ecu?
the ecu should sense that there is no longer extra air in the engine, either via manifold pressure sensor or air flow meter, which ever one you have, and adjust the fuel accordingly providing when it was maped they played with the no boost side of things.... hopefully

    std ecu?
should work on similar theory but would probably worse off

Depends how much time has been spent tuning the map "off boost".

If inlet restriction hasn't really changed (by removing the SC) then it should be close

Thanks Phil, nothing should change on the inlet sizes, so fingers crossed.

You'll be fine. The only change will be that you'll never get to the boost section of the map. As mentioned above, if the vacuum part of the map is tuned properly then everything will be business as usual.

I've got a 4AGZE with 440cc injectors and often switch the SC off for long/boring road trips, which is basically the same situation. Never given issues.
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

Oh, and yes, there will be sluggish performance, but only because your motor will be NA rather than SC. But just think of that as incentive to get things fixed.
