    PROTECTOMAT CATALOGUE

These guys distinguish between ra60 and ma61 cargo mats. so im guessing im after the supra cargo mat and ra60 interior mats. My concern is that they dont supply the boot matts. in the picture where "1" is located that is a different piece of carpet to "2". I think that protecto mat only supply "2" which would be a pain, im gonna go drop in on them during the week.

Stefan: ive got the cargo strips as well "3", so maybe mines exactly the same as supra

yeah, cargo strips are in both. As for "1" it might be worth seeing if you can buy the carpet and reupholstering the tower covers yourself. They are made of plastic which I don't believe is brittle, so pulling the old carpet off shouldn't take too much of a delicate touch.

No No No.... Those are not the cargo strips. Those are STRAPS not strips. The strips Stefan was talking about are like plastic strips that are infused in with the carpet and run pararel along the floor. There's about 4 or 5 of them.

I'm confused - there are 3 carpet pieces in an A6 - the front passenger, the rear passenger, and the boot. Whether the OEM quality differs between the Celica sand Supra versions (I don't know), the front passenger and rear passenger are totally interchangeable between Celcias and Supras - it is only the boot that differs as I posted before.

What do you mean by boot versus cargo?

Also, the "1" you refer to in your photos is a peice of interior rather than a removeable piece of carpet. I don't think anywhere would sell this as a unit - if you want to change colour, you'll have to get some from another car, dye, or somehow rip the carpet off and recover the plastic it is stuck to.

The stuff Ryley has is from my XX.
I'm not sure if any of the Aus cars have the plastic strips due to the lack of the false floor.

That's where Ryley got the stuff he now just needs to put flat board to make the floor flat... In my MA61 I just got carpet and cargo straps... no flat floor as the spare is the bulge in the carpet...

Ah, well that i didn't know. My car had aftermarket boot carpet when i bought it and replaced that with celica carpet. So i assumed Aus MA61's had those strips. Thanks for clarifying.

False floor? is that the the wood that hinges and covers the whole boot space? my car has that. but no cargo strips. JDM?

Stefan: i just assumed that the boot carpet was "1" and the cargo was "2". this is because the protectomat catalaouge makes a distinction between them but only supplies the cargo area.

Daymoe, the False floor is the wood that is on hinges that makes the floor level with the spare wheel. Does your car build tag have E-MA61 (Japanese) or does it MA61R (Other countries in right hand drive excluding Japan)?

    Cheers.

Its an RA63 (celica) Build Tag E-RA63 (japanese import)

so the false floor is quite a rare item then?

Add www.technotoytuning.com to the list of vendors for parts - great high-quality strut tops to suit xA6x Supras and Celicas at a very reasonable price, and rollerbearing upper hats to suit (note - they are listed on the site to suit imperial spring IDs (2.5"), but you can ask Gabe to make them to suit metric springs.... e.g. 65mm. I did) When I got the camber tops at the same time as the upper hats, the price was even better.

They also make rose-jointed tension control rods to suit xA6xs - I intend I order a pair of these soon.

Very good thinking Stefan, i shall add it shortly.

I thought they only made tension rods to suit the AE86 chassis. Well i havn't actually looked but i know AE86 tension rods fit the MA61 chassis.
