    Default AE92 Conversion

    Hey Guys,

Im looking at picking up a AE92 corolla for cheap and dropping a BT 20V into it. My brother is kingtube69 on here so i thought it would only make sense to do another 20V

At the moment im in the phase of gathering information and planning, im currently saving to buy a beater AE92, and keeping my eye out for a 20V BT.

For now, im asking has anyone on here done one before, what information do i need in particular, anything special to know?

Just a couple of questions too, i have found a page with the conversions needed for the ecu wiring http://forum.twincam.org.au/topic/36...-blacktop-20v/ (sorry if this is not allowed to be posted on here), if anyone has seen it or visits it, i was curious if they are using the standard wiring loom for the standard motor or if they use the loom from the new ecu. Which would be better to do? use the standard loom in the car if possible or use the loom for the BT ECU?

Would also like to have a copy of the dash wiring for AE92 csi or whatever and also the SX model as i may end up using an SX dash.

Cheers, please go easy, im new :/

Hey, I am in the process of this swap.
If you get a Rolla with a 4A-FE or 7A-FE, you are saving a heap of time (and money) as all the radiator and heater hoses are ready to roll. However you may run into issues with P/S and A/C locations, if you want to use your original lines for each.
If you want the SX cluster, you will need the SX dash loom to plug it up, or do some cut and shut with the plugs into the cluster. I have a cluster and loom, the loom I am using as a reference at the moment, but it will be for sale some point soon.
I purchased an engine and loom that came out of an AE92 SX, my problem is I'm putting it in a JDM AE92, so plugs are different, and other little bits and pieces I am finding out along the way, like the AE92 HP fuel line is less than ideal, and working out where to mount the coil, igniter etc. If I had my time again with it I would get the original engine loom and BT engine loom next to each other and combine the two - which I may do at some point.
I'd highly recommend a brake upgrade too, AT LEAST ventilateds up front. I can't recall if I have fronts (quite possibly!), but I do have rears, and the handbrake cable to suit, in the shed. They'd need a reco, but most brakes this age you'd want to reco anyway. And the strut brace is worth it's weight in gold, getting it into a non-SX/GTi AE92 involves drilling holes and getting some nuts in behind - ideally you'd weld them, but I have had them just bolted in without dramas in a car I had years ago. Your driveshafts will bolt up, or new ones will bolt in. If you get a half cut use the BT's gear shifter in the shifter housing of the AE92 - a huge improvement.
That's all I can think of at the moment! Hope that helps.

    So u like my writeup...

Have u found an ae92 yet? I've got a white hatch with a seca sx trim, no running gear u could have for $300.

You take the plugs off the ae92 loom that goes into the fuse box and cabin, and mod he ae111 loom to connect up. Pretty easy to do.
