4 x 39.7mm... I think I win
Althought the stock J pipe doesn't fit anymore...
Hi All,
What is the largest throttle body anyone has been able to fit to their 4AGZE while keeping the factory inlet manifold and "j pipe"? I will be boring the "j pipe" accordingly.
I am looking at a 60mm 7MGE throttle body and am unsure as to whether it will fit as a replacement or bore the factory setup out and use the 60mm blade.
I do not have the 7MGE throttle body at hand, hence asking...
Cheers

The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.

im not an expert, but i thought the N/A 4age throttle body was the go to upgrade for a GZE?
N/A for life...
I head 3S TB's are good too (off an SW20 I believe). You could keep the J pipe but you'll need an adapter piece to hook up to it.

Yeah, the 4age throttle blade diameter is something like 5mm bigger than the SC throttle blade. I have a 60mm Holden throttle on my GZE, with large custom pipework, SC14 @ 17psi and (bigger inlet camshaft) and while its perfectly fine (I'm 'used to it') I'd say to be perfectly honest its too big - symptom is its really a bit too sensitive at small openings.

Now flogg'n the SC14 @ 18psi....
gen2 3sgte t/b is the one to go to - fits with the least mods. ideally the sw20 mr2 one - celica one is different but can be made to work
You can bore the standard GZE TB out to 55mm. Obviously you will need a 55mm butterfly valve to go in there.

Cheers gents, a 4AGE throttle butterfly is being fitted to a 4AGZE j-pipe.
