    Default HKS FCD 1JZGTE problem.

Installed a new HKS FCD on my jzz30 1JZGTE.

Yellow wire from FCD to ecu side of PIM on C84 (Cut)
White wire from FCD to PIM (MAP)
Black wire from FCD to E2 on c84
Red wire from FCD to +B on c86

Here is the jzz30 pin out.

    FCD is on setting 9

Runs horribly, won't idle too well and will stall. Runs the same with it disconnected..

Reconnect the PIM from the MAP and it runs normally.

I've checked the power and earth, seems sweet. I did the above with earth off. Tried putting it on setting 12, same problem.

Any help would be great. I've searched the net but there isn't really any answers to this..

    Thanks,

    It's the correct type.

Just put a multi meter on it at idle. In is 2v, out is 5v.. Boost cut is around 4.2v

    What

1.4v when PIM from MAP is per factory.

I'm gonna hook mine up this week, and I'm doing some googling and fuck, there is some contradicting information out there.
Did you try Grounding the FCD to the body? Or using another 12V?
Can you run 12v through them or do they need to run off the +B on c86?
I am also under the understanding that the type with 5 wires (K3) is for a AFM setup (7M)?

Let me know how you go, and what it was causing your issues.

    That's correct, k3 is for 7mgte etc.

From what i have read you can get the power and ground from anywhere, but the HKS manual says to splice it from the ECU. I tried both.

I flagged mine and I'm going to install an SAFC.
