Default MA61 Superpro trailing arm bushes with rear camber modifications

This is going to sound confusing, but I’ll try my best…

Standard Supra/Cressida requires 2x14mm ID crush tubes (inner) & 2x12mm ID crush tubes (outer), for the trailing arm bushes, but when you modify the outer mounts for adjustable camber (using factory 14mm toe eccentric bolts) you then obviously require 4x14mm ID crush tubes.

I’m aware that long ago, the Superpro kit incorrectly came with 4x14mm ID crush tubes (there was a thread on here some time ago in which peewee or cruzida? had to sleeve down the ID of the outer bush to 12mm because they still had the stock 12mm outer bolts).

Superpro has obviously fixed the issue & now supply the correct (for a std. car) sized crush tubes. I spoke to them today & the only way to rectify this (through them) is to order two extra crush tubes from them in addition to the SPF3180K kit. Part number for the extra 14mm ID sleeves: SPF0970T (you will need to order two of these)

Obviously if you had the means it would be easy to drill/machine out the 12mm crush tubes in the kit, or just to order the additional tubes… and pay for them unfortunately.

    So my questions are:

has anyone ever bought Superpro rear trailing arm bushes & they came with 4x14mm crush tubes? Did you have two left-over 14mm ID crush tubes that you didn’t use and want to get rid of?

Or how have others dealt with this issue?

    Cheers.

I imagine the extra crush tubes aren't real pricey? I'd just go that way.

Edit: keep in mind that to fit the superpro bushings, you have to cut the external shells out of the swingarms. This is an absolute bastard job that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

For that reason I used Energy Suspension ones the second time i did them:

A whole lot cheaper than Superpro ones, but only come with 2x crush tubes (can't remember which two). Have a look at the Energy suspension website if you're curious.

    Thanks for the advice guys,
I ended up ordering the off-the-shelf superpro kit before I saw your replies...
I will just get the two outer tubes machined out to suit. The tubes are the same OD so will have enough meat left once opened up.
Looks like I've got some fun times ahead getting those old ones out!

Did those energy suspension ones make it much easier mate?

I've ordered them, already have the rear subframe superpro bushes, and will order the rear diff subframe superpro ones as well..

why not use a spherical bush? i know it'll have more NVH but at least it can take the abuse and angle with the camber mod?

OD on the OEM inner bush is 36MM (including the outer shell), P/N 42210-14010 off a MA70 supra is 36MM OD, 14MM ID, 50MM long..........

Yeah, I've had the kit on the shelf for about 5 years! (maybe longer?).

NFI on ride height as its on a hoist, but its not that low.

Cheers mate, mine is the Norbie kit also.

Mine is pretty low, but I reckon it's about 5 deg negative static at the moment.... so anything is an improvement before I put new tyres on.

Mine was about 3deg I reckon, but I can't find the printout from the last alignment.

I can now get 0deg at desired ride height.
