    Default 2jz bottom end problem?

    Hey guys, I need help with finding the possible problem I have with my 2jz bottom end. I raced the car at willowbank one night and drove it home fine and parked it in the shed. it sat for a couple of weeks and when I started it up (cold) it had a really bad bottom end nock however once the car warms up it goes away and drives/ boost fine with no noise what so ever. the noise is only there when cold. I raced it at jamboree and the noise slowly went away over the weekend and went well but again it sat for a few days before starting it again and the nock came back pretty bad. so basicly wondering what this bottom end nock could be? mods- stock 2jz with 282 cams and springs, single gt35r setup, pump e85, 1200cc injectors, good fuel system, wolf v500 ecu, cooler, exhaust. oil change wasn't that long ago before nock started. I run 10w40 and never had a problem with it. any help would be great thanks.

    Video's help a lot;
    Whats your oil pressure on the cold start up?
    I run 5W-30 and I have over 100psi cold and about 35psi at idle when hot.

    Slap a gauge on and see what the pressure is like when you start it cold

    Warm up, then it's not a bearing, they change with lube not heat.
    Does it or does it not stop(or change significantly) when the oil light goes out?
    Pistons take a while to warm up.

    oil light only just comes on with reds I think. it will sit there idling and nocking abit until it warms up which takes a while and there isn't an oil light on when its running cold.

    It's a 2JZ. Ignore it, and in a few years maybe it'll finally let go, which will be the perfect excuse for a 3.4 stroker bottom end.
    I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
    Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

    its been going strong for 6 years now pretty happy with that since it makes over 500 with only a 35r for that long

    Are you sure its not in the head? When you put the cams in you re did the valve clearance? Also a exhaust leak at the manifold to head flange can sometimes sound like a knock, could be sealing back up when it all expands from heat.

    Also defs not your gearbox? I get a bit of clattering with both of my cars. W58 is worse when cold.

    I very much dought it would be head. ive had it on for a little while now with cams fitted with no issues and the head was rebuilt by a proper guy that did all clearances etc. its a pretty bad knock and very much sounds like bottom end. ive got a tricked up 2speed powerglide and im 100% sure its not that aswell. my tuner said he has had a few cars come in doing the same thing. he was saying its normally the stock bottom ends that have done a few k's that do that and its normally the gudgeon pin wear or something? if not he said probably bearings. im going to pull it down anyway as it had done 120k in the halfcut when I got it plus 6 years of me thrashing it with over 500hp lol. so a new set of bearings etc wouldn't hurt.

    Post up what you find;
    Rebuilding one of these is pretty cheap, unlike a skyline donk you can leave everything OEM with a set of forged pistons if you really fancy
