Weekend after the Snowy 1000. Should still be there for it
Entries open tomorrow for those interested.
They haven't replied to my email. Closer inspection of vehicle classifications reveals that for Type3 the original engine configuration must be retained (e.g. s13 must have a 4cyl). The fact that my silvia has a v8 is a bit more obvious than the fact that it is not a Nissan v8, so I'm out. Will go and have a look regardless.

I went and had a look at the course, looks dangerous but fun, assuming you have a bit of power! Tyre barriers don't look like they would be very effective, and repairing the Armco at the hairpin will probably send the club broke, I reckon a lot of cars will end up hitting it.

Straight much? Reach some speed!

R.I.P.
Will be very fast, but like Huntley it looks straight until you're driving it at speed...
At Huntley it regularly results in big offs at high speed. Same here I reckon!

That looks pretty freaking awesome
Is it as bumpy as appears from the camera?

There's a fairly bumpy section about midway, but largely it isn't too bad. The camera was on a shakey mount.
Apparently there will be straw bale chicanes set up on the straight sections![]()

Subject: FW: COOMA CAR CLUB LOOKING FOR MORE LOCAL ENTRIES FOR INAUGRAL HILL CLIMB
Sending you this as you are considering coming up this weekend….. We have deliberately taken low key approach (new event/new track/new logistics/no experience on our part but SDMA (Canberra are going to provide timing + experienced people)….. anyhow looks like we have been too low key in our lack of promotion – so far only 13 confirmed entries – but expecting around 23….
As this is an inaugural event, the Car Club Committee organizing the event have deliberately adopted a low key approach with entries limited to a total of 40 from the Cooma Car Club and the Southern District Motorsports Association (SDMA Canberra Hill Climb Club). However, so far local entries far have been disappointing.
DETAILS – WHEN/WHERE
· Entries will be accepted up to 8 PM on Thursday 14/11/2013
· There are a range entry classes, however all vehicles must be road-registerable
· Scrutineering will be at the CMHAC Club House, Bolaro Street, Cooma on 17 November from 7 to 9 AM.
· A CAMS Level 2 licence is required; however CMHAC will assist with obtaining a day one-day licence for the event.
· Driver’s briefing will be held at the start line at 9:30 AM
· The event will start at 10 AM and finish by 4 PM.
WHY ENTER
Hillclimbing is one of Motorsports grass roots disciplines, where drivers learn to think more about their driving and the car around you. In fact, Hillclimbing is often referred to as a “Thinking Drivers” form of motor sport; that offers all the challenges, and experiences in testing your ability and the performance of your car whilst competing against other cars.
A lot of work has gone into getting ready for this event including significant improvements to the 1 km long Mount Gladstone track. Experts who have seen the track are impressed, and the Car Club organisers are urging locals to make an entry this week to become part of history in the inaugural Hill Climb which is anticipated to be an exciting fore runner of a future regular programme of Hillclimbs at this outstanding track.

I WOULD RUN ------- but my car is not allowed to run --- no rego !
aaaaaaaaaaah I wanna run this weekend soooo badly! This event is dirt cheap, the road looks awesome, and who wouldn't want to be there for the first runs!

Hillclimb class records there for the taking!
Just stick some plates on it Bob, ACT doesn't require stickers anymore so they won't be able to verify rego. I doubt they'd go onto act gov website to check...

Tempting , but no ! . The little red beast and it's pilot have become well known amongst officialdom in recent times . Really do not think I would get away with it , I am not that lucky .
