Default Yet another 7mgte mx83 conversion, mz21 yellow plug identification

Hi all! My name is simon and I'm mid way thru putting a 7mgte into my Cressida and having probs with my wiring, I have been searching for the last month and still not sure about the wiring side of things,
I have a mz21 yellow plug harness on the motor and my Cressida is 89 grey plug, the problem I'm having is the only info I can find is for the yellow plug supra harness and the plugs look different to my harness so I'm having trouble working out what is what and which wires I need to make it all happen??
I know this has been flogged to death and I apologize for going there again but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated....
    Cheers Simon

Just get a multimeter and probe out the wires

Find what the grey plug Cressida wires do
Find one at a time and then find the corresponding wire on the 7mgte loom then solder together
Are u running an auto gbox aswell as u need another ecu to do that as 7mgte ecu doesn't do auto

Yea I am running an auto...crap.
Is there another computer that controls the trans? If so is it a removable item that I can get hold of and plug into my gte harness? Cheers

soarer 7mgtes had an auto ecu on the left hand side kickpanel which needs wiring into the engine loom
are u running the 7m gte auto or the Cressida 7m auto pretty sure they should be similar electrically
i havnt wired up a 7mgte auto ecu in about 5 years but they are a pain cause the whole plug is normally cut
and u need to chase up where every wire goes and connect it to dash and engine loom

yes its not easy if u havnt done this before
I might have some old 7mgte auto ecus as I have a 7mgte engine ecu
but the hardest thing is finding the plug for the auto ecu but ill have a look

Ok thanks again mate, also I'm confused as there is meant to be an auto ecu behind the passenger kick panel on my Cressida? If there is can I use it with gte auto?

no your 7m Cressida motor ecu control both engine and auto
a soarer or supra 7mgte normally has separate engine and auto ecus
have u got the pinouts for your engine ecu, go thru them and see if there is any auto pins

for 1300 bucks i can wire it next weekend if you want (trans ecu included in price) hehehe
im driving down to Sydney on Wednesday to wire up a 08 hilux motor into a surf and finish of a 3uz into a Porsche
i can stay an extra day otherwise im coming back to qld on saturday

How much to show me how to do it lol...?
I'm pretty good with wiring but this has me stumped as I cant identify the plugs on my harness, if u were to wire it would everything in the Cressida work like it should? I gather you have done this conversion before?
    Cheers

I've done a couple thousand conversion wiring jobs,
sorry it's to much hard work to show how to do it,
just ask guys on here for info once u start it
and I'll try to help if u really get stuck
but just persevere with it over next few weeks

I'm tempted to get you to do it as I don't know where to start lol, also I don't have a ecu for the trans and so on...
If u were interested would 1300 be ur best price? Could maybe get ur phone number to discuss the job if ur keen?

    hi
if u have done wiring before just give it a go
use a multimeter like i said and find where the wires go on the yellow plug
    should only take afew hours
anyway where in nsw is the car
    ill be around castle area
im limited to time when I come down as i have to be back before school holidays end
sorry but when i travel interstate its hard to do cheap stuff incase something goes wrong and i have to make a quick flight down for a day so i come down and try to smash as much jobs as i can in the minimum amount of days plus i loose 2 days of work in travel and i normally come down for a certain customer then try get some extra work

anyway i still have to look if i got the auto bits because i threw a fair few old ecus at the tip afew weeks ago and ive had 7mgte auto ecus for about 8 years now and had not used them
i just got home from a small job this arvo so ill check tomorrow when its daytime

I think I will go alright if I can identify what plugs I have, all the info I can find shows different plugs than what I have on the Cressida and on the gte harness and that's where I'm getting confused....,I'm in Wollongong and the engine isn't in the car yet but will be putting it in next wknd. I'll have a go n see how I go, thanks for ur help mate I really appreciate ur time cheers

    No probs
Someone on here might have the info your looking for
I have hand drawn diagrams for a lot of those old plugs but they are for my eyes only hehe
And there is two or three different pinouts of that yellow plug
That's y the only way to know what wires do is go get a multimeter and start probing
