Default Greddy emanage blue -Good? Bad?

    Hi all,

Thinking of buying a Greddy emanage blue for my gz20. The stock ecu makes the car run uber rich (9:1 under boost), would like to get the mixtures back to 11.5:1 or there abouts and also control timing, something which an safc can't do.

Just wanted to know if the emanage is a good unit? Is it easy to use/tune?

Compared to the safc it has a lot more features. I would go a full standalone ecu but the $$$ of doing so makes it not a worthwhile venture.

    Thanks.

    The Americans love these.
    Not so popular in Aust.
I have one, that i tried to set up on an 18rgeu.
Got it wired up and running with no values other than larger Injectors.
I have the Eo1 display also.
looks great on screen and on laptop. All functions show up.
Other than that..performance wise..dont know personally.
It maybe for sale, with both harness, Eo1 display, CD, all cables, solenoid, manuals plus more.
But, im struggling with my new setup. So not sure if will sell yet.
If your not in a hurry. PM me later on down the track.

Ok will do, not really in a rush, just looking at my options.

Sucks there isn't a plug and play like a power fc or similar for the z20's, only option is either piggyback or standalone.

    yeh. p&p will help.
But there not to hard to wire up.
there are some stand alone ecus cheap, but they still all need extra sensors or stuff to get them working.

Main reason for the emanage is the price, I can buy of ebay for $385 with the ignition and injector harness plus usb cable and software, cant really go past that compared to a microtech or similar, looking at $1000+, then tune and fitting.

The only thing I was curious about with the wiring is the injectors, the manual for the emanage blue has either 1 individual wire per injector or you can have 2 injectors tied together, but with the 1ggte there grouped in 3's, a odd and even bank, so the wiring to the emanage would be 3 injector tied into 1, Im sure it would work, but you just never know how compatible it will be with old ecu's.

emanage docs say it works with 1g-gte.
It can do a 6 inline single wire, 3 groups of 2 inj as you say or batch with distibutor.
    so yr pretty much covered.
I Also have paper work on this somewhere

Also fyi info 1G-GTE jumpers for later if u go a head with it.
    afm/map type = ty-FL-3
    jumper 1= 5
    " 2=4
    " 3=9

I hooked it up with the basic wiring on sat but I couldn't connect to my laptop, so mucked around with the dial settings at idle, not sure if its meant to do this but the active light flashes green the whole time, the manual says it should be constant green.

Also noticed the first adjuster adjusted the idle mixture, not sure if its meant to do that or not.

Either way I can't really do/set anything correctly until I can use the software, waiting on a serial to usb cable to arrive, apparently you need one with a ftdi chipset otherwise it wont work.

Another potential issue is the wiring for the timing adjustment, as the ecu shares the same wire for the rpm signal/ignition according to the wiring diagrams, not sure if it will work as you have to splice into the rpm wire for the basic harness but for the ignition harness you have to cut the wire.
