Default A small question? Reverse light

First of all i need to thank this place for helping out alot. My car is soon nice to go on shows and other things.

But now to the question. The reverse lights wiring cabel is it red and black? And how do it pass through the car? Do it goes through Ecu to display and then to the reverse lights? Or how is it? This is a small thing i need to have done before im ready.

Or what shall i look for on the wiringdiagram?

    Cheers. Nicke

I'm guessing it an Auto too as you mentioned display panel & what happened as to why they are not working now, was it a engine swap & needs wiring up ?? or just one day they weren't working ?? ..

    We need more info ...

Yep it's a automatic. We did a swap but after the swap of the engine it was fine. But i did have it do some mecanics to find some other problems. And then i change to Aem standalone. And now it don't work as it should.

So i need to now how were to look for the problem. How do the flow go from when your putting in the Reverse from the Electrical sight. Do it go from the gearbox to the display to the reverse lights in the back ? Or do it send the signal from the gearbox direkt to the reverselights? And what color is the cable?

And what do it have for name on a wiring diagram?

This is the only thing i need to get done to have the car in god shape.. Because they need to se this on the inspection of the car.

If memory serves, the path is box to ECU, ECU to dash and reverse lights. Make sure the output from the ECU is connected to the dash loom

Okay. So now i have something to go on. So it sends the same signal both to Dash and Reverse lights at the same time? I did see today it is not showing R in the display. But others like P and drive is there. Can this be a big thing? Or should i just se if the output from Ecu is giving a signal? And what color is this cabel so i know i have the right one?

Sorry...will have to leave this to a Soarer fan...I know thats how it works on the Supra (even the annoying reverse beeper works)...just need to make sure the output from ECU is hooked to the dash loom...

nothing to do with engine ecu

12v ign from backup fuse goes to inhibitor on gbox
this powers up all wires on gbox when its in that gear which then comes back up to the dash to light up the letters on dash
this also branches off to engine ecu but only for 1 2 N R normally and then the reverse wire also branches off another time
which goes down to the back for the reverse lights

so don't worry bout the ecu

does the lights in the dash light up if no then check backup fuse
if all dash lights work but not reverse then might be the inhibitor

ill all lights work but not reverse lights in back of car then probably wiring

It's good to know it haven't anything with the Ecu to do.

The dash is lighting up. P.D.L Not sure of them all. Shall see that tonight.
Im more thinking of it's some wire that the shop i did have the car to when they did switch to Aem they did say that they will make some wiring right. But it more like they have done it wrong. Becaus this was good before they did do there stuff. But it's the problem to know were they did switch something.
