High fuel Pressure 4age

Gday,
I've been searching all over the internetz for a souoution to my car's problem. i thought i had found it once i discovered that i had dramatically high fuel pressure.
I assumed that the culprit was a Fuel Pressure Regulator.....
Not being able to get a stock one for the 4age i went with a Sard adjustable unit. after installing this it did not seem to fix the problem. however with the gauge attached i was able to confirm the rediculous fuel pressure of 72 psi!
Revving the engine dropped this slightle however adjusting the unit made zero difference.

Would anyone know any causes for my massive fuel pressure? i don't seem to have any blockages.

Thats about what your pump tops out at when it is running against
a dead end. So the return line is blocked somewhere !!
