Digital dash change over

Hi Everybody, I need some info Please. Will a electronic speedo drive from a r154 fit a w58 5 speed G/box as I'm wanting to change from a cable drive speedo/dash to digital dash. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Never tried it but I would assume so, as most gearboxes of the earlier style gearboxes like that just had a standard style threaded sleeve on the box to screw the cable or such onto, obviously would just need to use the little drive pin from the electronic speedo drive ..

Thanks for the info lexsmaz. The reason i ask is i can pick up complete speedo drive in OZ as i'm in Ireland at mo looking at dash unit over here as well as family holiday so trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak
