A70/Z20 main loom plug colours and variations?

Hi all,

I'm wondering how many variations of the main loom plugs there are. Initially I thought there were only 2, yellow and grey. However, I have two MZ20s at home as well as a spare loom from another mz20. One car has yellow plugs, the other car has grey plugs (but the same style of plug as the yellow ones), and the spare loom has grey plugs, but they are a different style and pinout configuration. Does anyone know how many variations there actually are?

What do you mean by Main loom plugs, For the Actual body loom there is many differences from different z20 models, years and trim levels.

For ECU to Body all Plugs are the same shape, but wire colours and locations do vary from year to year, model to model.

From my research it looks like there are three variations;

<1988 - Yellow ECU plugs, Yellow body plugs

>1988 - Grey ECU plugs, Grey body plugs

1989 - Grey ECU plugs, Grey body plugs (but <88 yellow plug shape)
