You need to buy a Multimeter especially when you don't know what wires do what.

Also don't worry about random wires that you don't know what their function is off your Soarer loom, many of those will be for ABS, TRC etc on the Soarer
that you don't require to have the motor to start and run.

Bring it to Perth and I'll wire it in for you haha

hey z2tt where did u get those two 1uz vvti ecus from which i got of you afew months ago
    i need 1 or 2 more
ive figured how to get the security bypassed using afew things but i want to step it up to the next level

and ive got a new test i need to try on afew more to see if ive cracked the immobiliser so there is no need for any parts
just a reflash of the ecu and it should run with none of the security wires connected

i can get some from usa as a last resort

    thanks

Sorry it seems I didn't subscribe to the thread... anyway.

Did you not read this? I believe this applies to you.
I'm pretty sure the check engine light will come on if you do not have SP1 connected. This is not ideal.

As the others have said, buy a multimeter.

I just fit a toggle switch on the check engine light wire
if the speedo does not have provisions for signal back to ecu
also only afew models have correct four pulse signal on gbox
for speedometer this can go directly to ecu
but most Toyota have a 20 pulse which is not a good idea to
run to ecu directly as its to fast a speed signal

but your gbox will work fine without sp1 connected
just check engine light will come on after afew Kms of driving
but I have had some ecus not bring on check engine light when no sp1

Yes if you have a 20pulse / rev electric speed sensor it won't work connecting it directly to the engine ECU.

All the xJZ stuff is 4 pulse / rev if I am correct...

    I do know UZS131, MX83 and MZ12 are 20 pulse / rev however...

    Crown 1uz are 20 pulse
Cressida and chaser early are 4 pulse
That's y I used to collect Cressida speedo sensors for the four pulse
Hilux and landcruiser are four pulse
Corollas and mr2 are four pulse

    Most others are 20

hi, in the process of building a mx83 cressida with 1jzgte and a w55 gear box. Having trouble finding a way to change from a cable driven speedo to a speed sensor any help would be very much appreciated

Old thread, but does anyone know if 88 ma70 is 20 pulse? Originally 7mgte now jzz30 1j and autobox with mx83 rear ext. housing to suit mount. Speedo cable keeps breaking so i tried putting a jzz30 sender into the box and wiring the output to the digi dash but it reads way slow.

    jzz30 sender is 4 pulse.

use a z20 sender, they are 20 pulse. you will need to put the cable drive back on though as they screw onto it.

Haven't got enough room for that style as the mx83 housing puts it on passenger side and ma70 housing is proving difficult to find. Almost considering jzz30 electronics to run the ma70 digi dash.

Didn't even pick up the signal, i tested it at the input of the converter at a crawl multi went 0v, 5v, 0v, 5v, etc. Rest of wiring was fine nfi. Ok cool just wanted to make sure with a pic as we looked it up on toyodiy and the extension housing part number only showed up as ma70 not ga or jza
