What ever you get.... get it balanced.....
This is an OEM Toyota pressure plate... after it got balanced

Hey all,
I bought a clutch by the brand of Valeo and i'm wondering if i've made the right decision. I was working with my limited funds at the moment and bought this clutch. Its a huge job doing a clutch install on a Caldina GTT so i'm wanting to get it right first go. As a result I may end up seeing if I can get the clutch swapped over for an Excedy Heavy Duty Clutch.

Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
Valeo is the std brand for alot of jap manufacturer's clutches so they're not a knock off brand.
my old Nissan had a Valeo stamp on the pressure plate and disc, and I believe my 1JZ's disc had it too... So what you've bought is probably pretty close to a genuine Toyo clutch.
If I was you and the clutch is a prick to do, I'd be getting more than a standard kit, get a HD at least if you can afford it. ol mates advice on getting it balanced is good too!

Valeo is a huge French company.
Once upon a time they were called Ferodo, so it should be a pretty good clutch!
Cam mountain I feel different from the ordinary
thanks for the feedback. In the back of my mind i'm really tempted to buy an Exedy clutch instead. I believe the Valeos were manufactured in Korea.
Its interesting i've never balanced a clutch pressure plate in my life. Would it make a big difference?

Thats true. I would have thought the pressure plates may have been machined from factory (or at least the design was balanced).
Would the clutch also require alignment too?
Its interesting i've never actually done balancing before. Mind you, my uses have always been pretty low spec power.
