I can't think of something much sexier than a matching set of anodised GT bonnet vents, grille and sail vents..hmm this could get very expensive very quickly.
Will you leave all the finish options up to the buyer to complete themselves or do you have access to people or facilities that will be able to do it?

As for the tow hook.. I saw someone selling custom ones last week, but i can't for the life of me find the link now. The closest thing I can find to give you an idea is T3's AE86 hook found here https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/a...k-ae86-corolla
Something like that tailored for a TA22 would be cool, they're out there already but clearly not very easy to find.

I've got a few mates that drift AE86's, I'll ask them what their crowd would be interested in.

Dan- bring one back and do a write up for us! That way those of us who can't afford one can live vicariously through you till we save up enough.

I should have something for you buy then. Let me know when and where you are going to be I am up by Sacramento in the middle of the state.
I was looking at the tooling I already have and think I have everything I need already. Just need to make the various holding fixtures for the different operations and start milling. The Long hood vents are almost drawn and I will need to do the same as far as making a fixture but I also have the tooling for it already. Making progress guys. Remember one man here with just a few hours a week to devote to this.

Tow hook is possible. Now you get get TA22s there thats what a 75? What models do you get and what years are they or what do they compare to here in the states?
The hook attaches with the 3 bolts or 2 bolts? They would need to come down then out forward to get past the lower valance and stick out a little right. They cant be straight out like Gabes for the AEs thats for sure. Funny Gabe is about a Half hour from me good guy.

I'm no expert on what years and models were imported into Australia but I can say you'll find TA22's ranging from anywhere between the 1971 and 1977 vintages. TA23's, RA23's and RA28's are also around with vintages from about 1974 onwards give or take. I only know of one RA25.
Your 1972 Celica is the same as mine- we call them TA22's, I think that's an RA21/22 to you guys. The rest of the RA series is the same as the UDSM in terms of name as far as I know eg. RA28 is still RA28.
We never got those hideous safety bumpers a lot of the American 1st Gens have, just smileys. So you'd probably need to have two designs to cater for both.

As far as bolts go I'll have to see if I can find the other tow hook I found. From memory it was only 2, and the bracket twisted and turned its way out from behind the bumper somewhere on the left hand side.

T3 stuff is great, too bad postage is crazy to Aus from the US.

We have RA20 which was 71 only. Ra21 which was 72-74. Ra22 which was 75 only. then the Ra24/28/29 were 76-77 coupes and liftbacks....I think.

Bumpers should not effect the hooks since they would come out below the valence anyway. The RA20/1 had the 3 bolts one and I think they went to 2 hole ones in the later ones and RA22s here. I can check. The ones we got were just flat triangle pieces that stuck down low enough to hook onto.

Ya people over here kill for liftback bumpers thats for sure. I have always had the early cars so i always had the smileys.

To compare to your information I'd say that the most common here would be the RA21's and 22's. I haven't seen very many RA20's but they're about.
Think you'd be safe with the 2 bolt ones from what you say, that said it shouldn't be too difficult to make 2 and 3 hole variations if it cant be made cross compatible.

I was thinking instead of having bolt holes you could just have a slot cut out of the middle of the mounting end that would be big/long enough to accept both 2 and 3 bolt versions. Would make it simpler to sell and produce if it's possible to make work like that.

Personally I like the look of a nice rounded tow hook but you could make all sorts of designs as they'd largely be aesthetic items, just with a practical purpose to justify them. You're the expert, I'll leave it up to you to decide.

Sounds like if you could find a way to produce those smiley bumpers you'd be set for life, too bad they're chrome.

A little bit of progress but no chips just yet. I only have a couple of hours a week to work on this stuff right now. I have several drawings done already and I am working on the tool path and G-code right now. I still need to make some fixtures to hold some of this stuff for different operations and get some vices. But I need to make a few bucks just to get some money flowing. So I am going to make some Keychains. I know really Keychains. They dont require any fixtures or vices to make and they are pretty cool. I need some ideas from you guys for something specific to you over here?
I am going to make these in three versions so far. One is posted below. I am thinking in the 45.00US range but will see how many I can get on a sheet. about 7 inches long and 5/8 high letters and 1/2 thick.

I think a keychain with the toymods emblem (as seen on the top left of the forum screen) in it would be fantastic- maybe contact the toyman or one of the other higher-ups on here and get their permission to roll a few sets out?
You can trial them by making them available to the paid club members- that way you'd only have to roll out a small initial first batch if you wanted.

    Or even the Celica dragon?

Ok how about this. RA21 RA20 TA22 what ever raised like above and then the Celica script engraved on the back side or maybe raised like above as well. Or the Side Dragon Logo from the 71-2 cars. The really clean one thats not a crest. The length will be about 2.5-3.0 inches or so. Or the Toymods logo but I fear what they will want for money or the rights but I will shoot an email and see what they say.
I will be making the prototype of above tonight and I hope to have pictures after that.

I did a search for Toyman came up with nothing. Anyone have an actual contact name or did I do it wrong? Was River up in the rankings here? I have talked to him a few years ago.
