We came up with something pretty cool last night. I will post it up in an hour or so when i get to work. I think you will like it.
I like the designs that you've got up there, got me thinking- how difficult would it be to make a 'cut out' version? I'm sort of envisioning the toymods 'rings' and maybe lettering inside, put on a template then cut out so it looks something like this:
Would have to be pretty thick to be sturdy, but christ would that be cool.

Ok here is what we came up with. Oh and by the way the Logo on this site is so not even side to side. So we made this one symetrical side to side.
Ok on one side the center will be cut in and the outer will protrude out. The other side will be the opposite of that. We went with the round overall to flow with the Logo. What do you guys think?

They could be waiting to bring it up at a board meeting, either that or they're just busy mate. Maybe try and track down some of the other mods/board members on here, they might be able to help out. First place I'd be looking is the members section and seeing who the shot callers are in there.

I hit up a couple more Mods so we shall see. I bet they have just been busy no worries.

Any news on this?

I have heard nothing but the one comment from the one Mod. So there appears to be no effort from there side on this so I dont think there will be any effort from my side as well. Sad really but it is what it is.
I intend to make the rest of the Celica parts regardless I am still making progress on that stuff. Its only 3-4 hours a week that I get towards it though so its taking time. I have been working on the controller software and some hardware upgrades on the mill lately so thats just about done. Its a DOS based OS and program. I have upgraded it to Win98 at least thats about all it can handle with only 128mb of ram.

Gday mate,
This looks like a fantastic effort you are putting in, and look forward to seeing little tid bits for me to spend money on.
To clear up the vehicles we got here in Australia, we have:
71-mid 72 TA22 was a short nosed "flat tail light" coupe with fuel filler between the tail lights
mid 72-73 TA22 was a short nosed coupe with shark fin C pillar grills
74-75 TA22 was a short nosed coupe with the later style C pillar grills
76-77 TA23 and RA23 were long nosed coupes
77 RA28 was the long nosed liftback
Other models seen are TA27 and RA25 liftbacks. I am not an expert on these, however there are long nosed varieties, but they were modelled of the short nosed cars, so their front ends are not the same as the xA23/28 long noses. Any short nose version should be the same as the TA22 though. There have also been long nosed TA22 coupes turn up, unsure if they are imports, or if the imported front ends have been transplanted. These would be a rare vehicle over here though.
Things I personally would love to see being remade are the following:
long nose bonnet hinges
liftback tailgate hinges
"liftback" badge which sits on the tailgate (cannot get new)
"Toyota" badge which sits on the boot/tailgate (cannot get new)
long nose park light frame (can get lenses, but the frames are generally stuffed and cannot get new)
18R-G timing chain inspection plate cover with personalised engraving (ie '18R-GTE')
18R-GUE injection manifold to cam cover stays
Liftback map light housing (goes in the hood lining near the mirror) - might need to make it as a complete product, could be a too hard item.
I am sure there are plenty of other items which would come to mind, but the majority of my build involves custom fitment, so probably not suitable for yourself. The tailgate badges, however, I would be very interested in (probably just use double sided tape to mount), and the bonnet hinges. How I long for straight ones! Lambolica has done some research into this, and may be willing to pass on some of what he has come up with.
Cheers, Owen
