Great info there big_zop, +rep. Is there something similar in that manual for nuts? I want to buy a stack of genuine nuts to go with a kit ive made for the 7m.
They are m8, with a captive washer, silver in color. They are found in a million places on a 7m and im sure many other Toyota's.
I got a part number off toyodiy but it was about as useful as the bloke in toyota spare parts (not very)
There is no substitute for PUBIC inches

You can probably use a similar torque for the nut as you would for that size bolt. It 'should' give you a similar preload, although you can go a bit tighter as the stud won't be in torsion. Generally speaking, the bolt will fail before a nut, and if you don't break it when doing it up, there really isn't such a thing as too tight.

Thanks for all the comments regarding the bolts. I was extremely lucky that the torque stiffener plates bolts required for the Auto were the same for the Manual. I felt much more reassured knowing this. Now for the final part of the conversion.

That link from big_zop was tops, and so was all the information and advice provided thanks
