i'd suggest just heating it up with the TIG, strike an arc on it to get it to glow, then a few taps with a chisel.
we use a gear puller or what ever there called, the three claws thing, and you put a socket on it and turn it, it pushes the centre down as it pulls the race up. Used it 3 times for gt4 bearings

I didn't trust that it would have enough contact under the race to pull it up without slipping or breaking, but it was so simple in the end that you'd think it was easy enough to do with your bare hands![]()

It's because it is being pulled evenly and does not rock such that it wil jamb.
