    Default aw11 fuel pump

hey guys just wondering if anyone has had problems with the efi fuse blowing.
i replaced it and it just keeps happening. i have checked for shorts in the wires but everything is good.

the other question is does anyone know why when i re-wired my pump it runs at 60 psi, this is still the standard pump, is it maybe 6 volt?????
my car wont obviosly run at 60psi it just floods as you would expect.

    any info would be great....

    thanks.............

The fuel pump doesn't control the fuel pressure, that is the job of the pressure regulator. If you're getting 60psi fuel pressure then you need to sort out what is wrong with your pressure regulator.

Why did you rewire the fuel pump?

Oh and the fuel pump is definately 12V.

hey guys to answer some questions i wired it with a relay, i am rewiring it because it keeps blowing fuses as soon as i switch the key to ignition, and i know it does not regulate the pressure the fuel pressure reg does i have tried the factory reg a malpassi fpr and also another aftermarket one... and it still runs at 60psi at the lowest...

i was hoping to rewire it as a quick fix but now it wont start due to the huge fuel pressure...

    any other ideas...........

the only thing i can think of is a blockage{restriction} in the return line somewere. you pump might have been blowing the fuse on overload.

Try hooking up your return line to go into a bucket or something and check the rail pressure then. Make sure it is the problem.

A blocked fuel pump would cause higher pressure between the pump and the filter not not in the fuel rail itself.
