Default After market ecu for 18RGE

I am after some advice regarding the approach taken for the fitting of an aftermarket ECU to a 18RGE. While there are any number of ECUs that can be used I am unsure how people have addressed the issues of TPS, idle control, timing pickup, replacement of the AFM, water temp and air temp, etc. I believe I am correct in saying that I have to retain at least the distributor body as it cannot be removed as it drives the oil pump.

Would welcome you comments and information.

    I run a megasquirt 3.0 mainboard on my 2TG
I was a total noob to anything efi so anyone can do it.
Use your factory temp sensor, tap an intake air temp sensor into your intake manifold,
Tps can be purchased new (will get the link when I'm on a computer next)
AFM is taken out and tossed, as megasquirt run an inbuilt map sensor

As far as ingnition goes there is a million different choices. Can even trigger of your coil and run point til you get the fuel map how you like it.
I went ford edis and deleted my distributor and run coil packs
I brought mine unassembled and a few nights soldering saves heaps of $$

Sorry for the quick reply, smoko is only short.

sorry if slightly off topic here. but i was interested in the write up on the 2tgeu (invids) regarding the use on an Air sensor in front of the AFM.
what its used for and benifits, also how it is used, (guages).

RANT - not direct AT Craig...

All aftermarket ECUs can handle the 18RG. Here is something no one else will tell you...

STOP buying the aftermarket ECU.......... BEFORE you know who is going to tune it!!!!!!!

Are you fully capable of tuning ALL of the parameters? No? Then who is going to tune it? Is there a shop in town with background in tuning?? Are they successful??

    Yes?

Ask them, the shop, what THEY are most comfortable tuning!!!!!! I can't stress this enough. Don't buy an ECU unless you know your tuner KNOWS how to tune using the ECU you purchased.

    RANT over....
