Default SA63 bits swapped into MA61 Supra

Hi everyone, long time lurker first time poster. And i hope this is in the right forum section...

I've recently bought an MA61 after owning an SA63 for about 3 years. One too many major engine problems and an unwinnable rust war meant it was time to upgrade

After a fair bit of research (this was very helpful, cheers) I can only find one thing to swap from SA63 to MA61 which is the front suspension. Gets more camber due to the stub angle and better steering due to the shorter knuckles once you ream out the ball joint hole, etc etc i read the thread . I already had king springs + RCAs in the Celica so that and the much newer shocks will swap in too for now, plus some bits and bobs from the interior.

My question is this - is there anything else that I should be swapping into my MA61 before I start flogging Celica parts off? What about the steering rack?

    Cheers

You've found probably the only useful part!

Some trim bits may be useful if you are missing them from your MA61, but they will be a different grade.
If its a manual the tranny will be worth $$, as will the sump/mounts/bellhousing for anyone wanting to put a 3SGTE into RWD mode.

I thought it might be, thanks. I didn't want to part out a car and later discover that I needed a bit off it.
Before buying the Supra I was considering doing a 3S swap myself but the rust situation in the shell didn't justify the effort

most of the interior bits are interchangable however the supra stuff is generally better.
I suggest if you are going to part out the sa63 you hold onto a few items though, the rear hatch depening on the rust situation, the rear wing too (mines started to lift), and the rear parcel shelf roller thing if its the same colour and in good condition, these are some of the first things to go bad in these cars in my experience.

Front brakes are the exact same if you want spare calipers.
90% sure the steering rack is different somehow but can be made to work.

Ok so no to the steering rack then. And I didn't realise the front calipers were the same either, I assumed the Supra's were better or bigger.

As far as the interior goes the Celica is brown and the Supra is blue so I have no intention of leaving it as it is, just to fill out some small things in the centre console and interior door latches while I try to find some blue parts instead. The Supra didn't come with the shade roller thing so I plan to paint that black and slot it in. The hatch and wing on the Celica originally came from a red supra at City Dismantler's & now that it has rained in Adelaide I know exactly how bad the new Supra's hatch is lol
I'll be sending the Celica's much better hatch off to be welded, fixed, POR-15 all over and then fitting that to the Supra.

After that I guess it's sell the Xmember, mounts, sump, starter motor?, bell housing & box to a 3S converter.
Perhaps even the some of the 2S stuff (Recently rebuilt Carby, air con, exhaust, whatever) might go to an SA63 or ST141 owner if they want it.

    Cheers for the help guys

Don't be afraid to vinyl dye them.

I hadn't thought of vinyl dye, i'll give that a go. All the good bits in the Celica actually match the bad bits in the Supra so I've got a complete interior, just different colours. If that fails I'll hit you up, cheers HMI265
