The gearboxes are terrible, typical china spec... ill see if i have the photo still
Elsewhere on the Forum I have a thread about a carburettor problem that runs rich which I don't seem to be able to solve.
If I can't fix it, I was thinking of purchasing one of the Chinese aftermarket carburettors on ebay that look identical to the original item.
Has anyone had any experience with the Chinese aftermarket items as they also sell replacement engines and gearboxes as well.

my experience with chinese parts is that after the shower of shit and sparks and the price of a tow home the "ooh i beat the system and got a bargain" feeling goes away.
most of the parts i have seen are exact duplicates of the worn out ones they copied ( go check out the OVAL holes in some harley brake or clutch levers for a laugh )
remember these people put POISON in baby milk to make it look like it has enough protein in it to pass the test.....
Remember this is a recreational activity ......

Never tried one of those Chinese carbys, but i dont think i would trust one. Most chinese stuff is not reliable but can be made to work ok if you know what you are doing. Anything plastic made in china will be brittle and break really easily. A carby has a plastic housing for the auto choke and a few bushes, so i would expect them to fail. I would buy a second hand one from the wreckers before buying chinese crap.
