How to work out what diff ratio you have?

I think what he's trying to say is that it seems a little strange to have a taller ratio in a car with a 4 speed (effectively) auto than a car with a 5 speed manual unless they wanted to make a 0-60 in 14 second car with a top speed of 200mph . I'm not arguing though, because I honestly dont know

Like stewart said, if you can see the holes in the centre through the drain plug, you can tell whether it's a two or one way. An arrow or triangle shaped hole with a point at one end and a flat at the other is one way, a diamond shaped hole with a point at either end is a two way. If, on the other hand, the hole has a diamond shape with a really pointy end on one end and a less pointy end on the other it may be a 1.5 way.
