Yes, there's an undercovered area, where you can probably leave it. Plus, I'll probably have my ute there where it could be put too, if necessary.

So I just discovered what appears to be a terminal problem with my engine last night, so if anyone wants to buy 1 or 2 spots off me please let me know. Otherwise I could bring my road car I guess, not sure yet.

    So bummed right now

Would one come to this with good tyres or shit ones? Would you expect any damage to tyres? Just I have some nice sticky ones on car and plenty of spare normal tyres. Looks like it might rain will that postpone or just add to the fun?

rain makes it slower but no less fun

Depends how hard you want to run as far as tyre wear goes, generally with street cars you might expect a bit of wear on the outside edges, nothing major unless alignment is not good, but if it is a wet/damp track there will be sfa wear anyway

just put a little extra air in them, say 38-42psi depending on car and how hard you want to push

ive run shit tyres on the RAC skidpans before for fun, just be aware that some instructors might not like excessive sideways/drifting/skids

No, the event is unlikely to be called-off by rain. And, by the look of the forecast, there won't be much of it anyway.

As Phil said with tyre wear. Driving poorly (corner entry/speed) has a big effect here too, so hopefully the instructors will be telling you how to do it right so you're not just doing massive understeer through every corner :-)

The entrant list is as per the first page post, and has 35 cars showing.

Moebius, you can still bring your street car. It's the techniques you should be looking to learn as it's not a race event. So, when you do go racing, your fast car isn't slow around a track :-)

We managed to get it going in the end. My thinking it was terminal was probably from a lack of sleep due to too many late nights trying to get it finished.

If anyone has any photos from the weekend that they're happy to share here and on the TECCWA Facebook page, please let me know. I didn't get a chance to take any myself.

It was a great day to get the car on the track. Not too hot for waiting around and the rain stayed away. Good to meet a few more guys and be able to test out the Lexus on the skidpan and track.

Very pleased nothing broke and everything stayed in the right place (under the bonnet).

Looking forward to being able to get to another event.

    Thanks Brian.

I'm glad the rain stayed away and it wasn't too hot either. Actually, the evening was quite nice.

Pretty sure SPIDA survived in tact too, although haven't gone for a drive yet since. Guess I'll find out when I head to the Classic Car Show at Whiteman Park on Sunday.

The next motorsport activity is the TECCWA Red Mist Autokhana in May on the 12th. Will be sending out an update email shortly.
