please pen my name in for a 'maybe' with this. it's been years since doing one of these days, and i am rusty. will there be a cut off date or car limit?

will not know my status until closer to the date and it's a long haul up there.

    Hi,

OK, but PM your real name/details or, better yet, email me at [email protected] so I can track/contact you easily.

Yes, there will be a cut-off limit and, with interested numbers at the mid-30's, it could be filled soon (Assuming everyone commits). Cut-off date will be end of March, and those who pay first lock-in their spots as that's the fairest way to do it.

We'd only accept entries after that date if there are spots left and it doesn't cause us dramas with organisation. For example, if we don't have enough payments by then, we'll go with fewer instructors and we don't want to suddenly have 10 more the day before.

The list of interested people is around our entry limit. However, until payments are received spots are not reserved. So, you need to pay before your spot is locked, first in, first served. The cut-off for payment is end of March so we can lock everything away.

So, if you're keen, I suggest transferring money ASAP to secure your entry.

Sure, no problem with advertising your car for sale while there. See you on the 14th.

Thanks mate, bit devo I can't go but the cost for me is more like... $1000 cause if I do one more track day on my current street tyres they'll be destroyed and my remaining 2 R-Comps are now past it too.

Saving for some for the next Red Mist instead! I may come down anyways and take some snaps, depends on if I get time.

Car needs to be licensed and meet the noise limits mate, also need a licence and if under 18 you will need parental consent.

Gene can advise of other requirements, he can be reached via [email protected]

Any car is ok to use mate. Provided it works

How high is noise limit is it same as road rules or a lil higher. Is helmet long pants fire extinguisher needed? Also what actually happens on the day is it like a coures or a bit like racing around a track? Sorry for all the questions but ive never been to anything like this.

    Hi,

It can be higher than your average road car, but if it's loud enough to disturb the neighbours around the RAC Driving Centre (generally I think 95dB is the limit, if anyone actually measures their cars?). We're expecting sports cars, so some noise is fine. But if it's excessive, such as straight-through or unbaffled exhausts, that's likely to be too loud.

Yes, you'll need an approved helmet and long pants/sleeves, and suitable footwear. There is no requirement for fire extinguishers, stickers, first aid kits, harnesses or any other full-on racing equipment. It is a training day, and it is designed for people with no experience as well as those with some experience. The instructors will work to your experience and capabilities.

Your car needs to be registered and generally sound, with no leaks, good brakes, working seat belts and generally anything else you'd think makes a car safe. Remove all loose objects from your car so they can't fly around, etc. Make sure your battery is secure.

Other things to think about is yourself. Make sure you drink plenty of rehydrating drinks during the day (there'll be some available), put on sunscreen, bring a hat/sunglasses and anything else you need to stay comfortable.

In-class introduction/briefing starts at 12:30pm, so try be there earlier, say around 12pm. Especially if you want to ask questions. I plan to be there early enough to be there when others are arriving, so will probably get there as early as 11:30am. Instructors will take people out, one-at-a-time, onto the Skid Pan in a number of different course layouts from 1:30pm until 4:30pm. Then, people will go out onto the Road Circuit with instructors, with up to 3 cars on the track at any one point. On both the Skid Pan and the Road Circuit, it will be at the instructors discretion as to whether you are ready to go out alone.

    Regards
