I'm in for this one... may have to take the bike though
mmm... Jungle Juice!
For the first official Toymods Cruise of 2013 we are heading to Wollombi Tavern ( Home of Dr. Jurd's Jungle Juice ) for Lunch and chit chat on Saturday 23rd March 2013.
Situated in the historic village of Wollombi, on the convict built Great North Road, the Tavern remains a favoured spot for travellers to and from the tourist destinations in the Hunter Valley's wine districts, and is especially popular with those wishing to take the Sunday bike ride or drive into the country around Sydney.
This cruise is similar to the Broke Cruise, with the exception there is lunch at the destination, before the return trip.
Meet point will be at the Ettomogah Pub (cnr Merriville rd & Windsor rd, Kellyville Ridge) at 9.00am for a 9.30 departure with the intent of getting to the tavern between 12.30 & 1pm for lunch.
The cruise will take us from the Ettomogah west along Windsor Road, following the signs to Wismans Ferry where there is the chance for some photo ops whilst waiting for the ferry to take us across the river.
After regrouping on the otherside we'll be heading out along side the river to near Mangrove Mountain and left on towards Wollombi for lunch. Google tells me the trip from the Ettamogah is a shade under 3 hours and whilst I haven't driven it, I'm told is is similar to Putty Road, with some twisties at each end.
After lunch and a chin wag with others who happen along, the official lead part of the cruise ends, and there are several options for the return trip back to Sydney.
a) Go back the way we came through Wisemans.
b) Continue onto Cessnock and back to the freeway for an easy run home, or take a detour onto the Old Pac.
c) Continue onto Broke, and back down Putty Road (reverse Broke cruise.)
This is a long cruise, some 400km depending on which way you go, so be aware of this. It is an all day event.
What do you bring?
Full tank of your Favorite petrol. (Servo across the road from the meet point)
Someone to talk to if you wish (this is a family friendly event)
Food & Bev for the Cruise part up & back.
CB Radio for chit chat
Music suitable for the trip ( 70's rock for the classic cars, doof doof for the modern, AQUA for the AW11 owners )
Dollars for lunch ( I'll post a price guide at a later date. )
Cheers
Simon

unless, by some miracle I get the front suspension sorted, it won't be a fun drive in the Purple Poo... and we all know how much fun can be had on a bike through twisties

Hey old man... I can bring a spare helmet and take you for a run if you like, as long as you don't soil the seat

Im in for the first leg of this but will have to head back to sydney from Wisemans.
fingers crossed the weather turns out nice! should be a great day
If the roads are that nice I might have to be in for this. but with some "spirited driving" the car will probably only just make 400km, so any chance of stopping off for fuel at the tavern before heading back?

Any chance of a stop point along the way, I assume you guys will be following wisemans ferry road up to George downs drive?
In which case I'd be keen to meet up along the way, seems a bit nonsensical coming from the central coast to go all the way out if I can just catch up with the pack at George Downs
As for pricing guide regarding food you have two options.... Terrible food at the pub, nice yuppy food thats quite expensive at the Cafe over the otherside
