Awesome cruise proposed;
Baring any major mishaps with work or car i will be there on the Saturday morning in my newly acquired AW11
BTW, Anyone else known to be coming up from the 'Gong?
Matt
I just found out about this today but have it written up in the diary and it will be a good chance to introduce my daughter to AQUA. Might go for the long way home to get putty in.

OK Gents,
I came home from Holidays in the reverse direction of the proposed Route. Quite Scenic and a mix of flowing corners and some twisties generally 80km/h. The road is better than I expected, probably along the lines of Putty Road. there is some pothole areas towards Wollombi where recent flooding has damaged the road surface, but nothing major.
Harreh, Yep the plan is Wisemans Ferry Road and Georges Downs Drive, and I'm more than happy to meet at a preferred intersection for a meet & regroup. So if there are guys comming from Newy / Central Coast there is no need to drive all the way into Sydney to turn around and go back again. I recall mobile reception was questionable in that area, So I'd advise someone in that group carry a CB. I'll be carrying one and recommend others as well for travelling shenanigans.
WISO - from the Start point to Wollombi is 150odd km, so 300 would get you back to Sydney Metro if you were to go back the way we came. otherwise it is 190odd Km from Start point to Cessnock if the prefered route home is via the freeway / old pac.
I'm looking forward to this now as I should be rolling on lowered suspension by then.
Cheers
Simon
Beige.... The new Black!!!
Mini-meet in Central Mangrove would be good, saves me a fair bit of travel, also means that I can bring the Soarer (if I can wrangle the keys) as it wouldn't make it across the ferry.

The road is fairly dodgey in a lot of places and is constantly falling apart and being resurfaced, especially closer to Wollombi but realistically as long as everyones looking out for potholes it should be ok. I recall getting stuck out there at 3 am when a section of the road that had been pressed up ripped open the sump on a mates car.
Mini meet at Mangrove would be the winner. Just need to decide what car to bring
Is the far side of Wollombi still dirt? Would have hoped they would have finished those roadworks by now...

Hi,
Pot holes, dodgey road... dirt roads?
Trini won't like that sort of stuff.

I came through Broke and it was all Bitumen, can't comment from Wollombi to Cessnock.
I didn't notice any pressed areas, but there were zones either side of the low timber bridges that were nothing but pothole repairs, there was a lengthy stretch of new tarmac, I just can't recall where that was on the trip.

River,
Take the 88 or Ronnie, if you don't take the 88 can I borrow the Equips
Cheers

Hi,
Considering I get about 250km per tankful in Trini I'll be forced to bring Ronnie.
The88 only goes out on special occasions, so she'll be nice and comfy at home. And... no to the Equips

I'm out for this now, car won't be ready to pick up until next Saturday so no chance of getting to the meet point on time.
If in doubt power out
Well, I've gone done and stuffed up again. Double booked..! Unfortunately won't be able to make this one either. Riv, you'll live for another day... but a ride on the bike is still on offer for next time, so don't go counting those chickens

Hi,
Yes, I live for another day.
At my age, each day you wake up is a good day..... unless the forums are down, and that means the day isn't so good.
Well, Trini is out! She got a problem.
Ronnie is out... flat tyres and flatter battery. Though can be easily fixed.
The88... the grand old lady.. she's always ready. Never lets me down that car... never.
