    Default 18rgue need help

Hi , i have a 18rgue that im rebuilding , looking at a new set of rings , the pistons that i have i thought were standard as the bore size i have is 88.5mm , the problem that i have is the 2 top compression rings for the pistons i have are 1.5 thick , when ordering rings they are saying the standard rings for that motor is 2mm top ring 2.5 second ring , can anybody help me sort this problem out as i want to use the original pistons that i have. The pistons that i have are a dome top and im using carbies instead of fuel injection.

It seems you may have some aftermarket pistons and depending on the size of the dome, you may have high compression ratio forged ones. Put some pics up if you can

Are there any brand/markings inside the pistons? If you can find this out, you can buy or get made the ones you need. Have a look in the ARIAS site for a reference

I am fairly certain that the later model 18rgeu, has thinner rings than the 18rg and that the rings that you are trying to order are for the 18rg that had thicker rings.

I had the same problem. Rings being thinner. I overcame this by getting the pistons machined to suit a std thickness. Works fine. 18geu pistons do have a slight dome, from what I remember on mine. But they are still 8.3 comp give or take.....

I am also going through this. I have 2 18rg's with late 18rgeu blocks, both have 88270 pistons with 1.5 top and 1.5 midle rings.
Would like total seal rings. Mine are also standard 88.5m bore. Just gave a quick hone.

Shop High Performance Piston Rings Online - Deves.com lists them at 1.5mm thick @ 92mm diameter not sure if these are the standard size or not
