    Question 4AGZE Harmonic balancer

I've currently got a 4 AGZE in my datto 1200 ute but don't need the front pully and could use the room for my thermo fans. Was just wondering if they make a aftermarket balancer without the front pulley

Asfarasiknose, you can part off the front pulley, and use the rear pulley on its own. The rubber insert is inside the rear pulley, so it still acts as a balancer.

I turned the front part of the original pulley off mine [Silvertop] about 5 months ago and it's seen lots of track days since then without issue.

It's a casting, by the way, so you'd be better off with carbide lathe tools to do the job.

Do they run a proper harmonic balancer on the 4agze motors, years ago most 4cyl motors of different manufacturers didnt run a dampened pulley due to the short length of the cranks, etc they didnt seem to find it necessary ..

It makes peak power at 7,700 - so I don't take it muck over that [limiter set to 7,900]

I also parted the front off of mine no dramas to 9500. Have been debating if i should go to a solid style pulley on the front for a while now..... alot of people seem to be using them with no issues reported that i have found.

Im looking to switch to crank angle sensor on next motor and the t3 ones are ready made and would just make thigs a bit easier. Just not sure on the whole no rubber dapen issue.....
Anyone run them..... anyone know of any issues ????????

ive also turned down my 4age one, to run a crank angle sensor on it. no issues either.

    http://rossperformanceparts.com/meta...balancers.html

i priced one up years ago for my 4age. custom with degree marks all way around it (for dialing in cams) and provisions for CAS. they came back with a price of 600$+. at the time, i thought the stock one was pretty good and been running that ever since haha.

didnt the solid 4agze crank pulleys used to always crack ?
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
