Default Carburetor in Daihatsu Charade Aura

I've heard that the carburetor from the
Daihatsu Charade "Aura" in Malaysia will
fit the Corolla 4K engine. These were
    presumably Aisan carbs as well.

Not sure which model names these Charades
were marketed as in other countries. They were
    produced around the mid-1980s.

I thought they came with the Toyota 1E engine,
but these were four-cylinder engines while
the Charade was supposed to have three-cylinders.

Might anyone have any info ?

Im i know that there were 4cyl EFI Charades, but im not sure about carby 4cyl.
Should be easy to find in a wrecking yard, but unless theres a shortage of corolla's in Selangor, im not sure why you wouldn't just use another K-series carb.

    Good luck anyway,

    Jim.

I'm using a stock Aisan meant for the 3K,
but it doesn't idle very well, so I had thought
of switching to the Daihatsu's carb sometime,
possibly with with some fuel savings too, since
the Daihatsu has a 1,000 cc engine.

I've read that the Aisan in the K-series engines
isn't particularly reliable, with air-fuel mixture
    problems at idle.

I remember reading in a Suzuki forum that problems
with a power piston in the Aisan's idle mixture circuit
are the cause of many erratic idle problems.

Some description of the Aisan used on the Starlet's
4K-C is given here (Moderators, my apologies
if I am not allowed to post links to other forums):

I've thought about converting to the Hitachi used
in the Datsun 1200, but then it's a major conversion
with modifications to the manifold mounting bracket,
air filter housing and throttle linkage.

the carb i took off the rona was Aisan and it was'nt re jetable/ tuneable so there no point in changing carbs from other cars with the same sort of carb either it'll be to rich or too lean which will just cause major problems !!!

your best off geting a weber 32/36 there cheap enought about 30-40 aussie dollars use and adapter plate and it's a bolt on job jet it correctly and she'll be apples!

when it comes to carbs nothing beats nicely tuned weber/dellorto carb(s)

    Thanks for the info, guys.

I checked and the Daihatsu Charade Aura is actually
the G100 model which came out around 1987, with a
1,000 cc CB 23 engine and 1,300 cc HC-C engine.

The CB23 carb can be seen here :
