ahh good point probably is 60mm dia piston then
    eitherway, it squishes stuff good.

got some blocks to make stuff easier.
    50mm round bar in 30, 50, 100, 120mm lengths ($19 for steel, $15 for 4 cuts from offcut... 1.5kg/100mm )
    50mm square at 70mm length ($5, 2kg/100mm)
yeah I know it's expensive, but everyone will be closed over xmas (or would have cut at work), and needed em now and they are perfect size..
plus cheaper than buying 1m of each....

little plates of 12? and 15mm? thickness to stack..
95mm OD plate made from 10mm thick.. specific for 'Dina hubs.

polycarbonate 75mm circle for pressing hub seals (dust lip goes in the cutout)

Where are you buying these pieces? I think the prices sound OK.

    local steel shop. http://www.steelsupplyco.info/
edit: they just happened to have 30cm of 50mm diameter bar as offcut, and the 50x50x70 was sitting there also.. (end of bar pieces)
the plates were probably from some job that fell through? had heaps of squares there

they don't tend to do cheaper price for "offcuts", especially for heavier grades (which is fair enough really)
but they are good with cutting stuff to length (even short bits), and occasionally chuck in a few bits for free

it's great having a good local steel shop, and they tend to employ a fair few young fellas a well, so I like to support them

edit, also found those thicker flat squares were cut perfectly the same length.. so i've been using them on end as well

Oc do you have access to a lathe? Those bits of round bar will work much better with machined ends if you can face them off quickly before use...

don't really have access to lathe.
yeah they'd be better faced off, but them seem to be good 90deg cuts, and am using them with plates/other bits rather than pushing with them directly.

will eventually get them fixed thanks for the suggestion

No worries I'd say bring em round with a 6pack but it would be a fair drive lol...
