For those not aware of your engine project(s)... what engine and specs are we talking about here?

hi RA45.......as you know from another thread I have these in my 2t/3t hybrid.

As I am not familiar with cam profiles and specs where would you say these cams sit? Very mild.....mild..warm....getting warmer?!!
In the 1600 they were cammy but in the 1940 they only have a mild lift at 4,500rpm but they do pull really well from about 2,500 upwards....loads of torque.

Part of the reason for asking is that at some point I might want to get hotter cams and it would give me some kind of reference as to what I actually have.

    Many thanks for your help!

these are hotter than the 288 trd profile
and i work on 50 thou duration to tell me how hot these are

anything past 260 at 50 is getting up there 3/4 race cam
so in your case 245 to 260 is where you need to be around and maybe use a bit of lift as well

I know that some factory race teams grind their own race cams. (small cheating)
some class Rules says stock cam & timing, or used camshaft had to be homolocated.

But they grind camshafts inside homolocation specs, Opening time, Closing time & Lift, so "Stock" cams are not stock, just measured specs are inside homolocation, and core is same than stock ones got. So no one can say nothing.... just profile is different. open & close faster.

Thanks for your reply! It gives me an idea of where I am and where I might need to go.
