What I have is burn the ends off the plugs detonation trying to run 24psi boost on pump fuel if the water meth is not working and 35psi on pump fuel if the water meth is working all with no intercooler. That is the difference between a high 13 at 96mph and a flat 12 second quarter mile at 115mph in my case.

Also on the subject of whether a water meth controller is necessary - no it isn't. I prefer to have a delivery curve just so as to keep the engine from being fed excess to at medium boost and marginal if you decide to wind boost up more than original intention!

    Cheers,
    Jason

Pretty much what i wanted to hear. The reason i got mine was 24PSI is no issue 30PSI is pushing it on 98 sort of the boarder line... with meth/water i just wanted to make that 30psi safer.

Some very good links, thanks guys.
So pretty much its a good idea to have the water injected relative to the amount of air/fuel, but not critical.
Also its no good having progressive injection if you're just dropping pump pressure and it doesn't atomise properly.

I'll probably look into the Jaycar controller as its really cheap, and do some testing to see what kind of range I can get with decent atomisation. Otherwise a dual stage setup with an rpm switch seems a decent compromise.

Are there any injectors that can handle water/meth? And just run like fuel.

Finding compatible meth injectors probably isn't a big deal, water however is a different story.
Perhaps make your own 'injector' by duty-ing the solenoid those snow performance kits come with, and leave the pump at optimum/maximum pressure?
They have an internal pressure relief/bypass don't they? If not, I don't think it would be that hard to T in a spring loaded ball valve or something.

If you want to use a fuel injector to control water/methanol, 1 of the guys found that he needed very high pump pressure to get the (straight)water to spray well.
The only injectors that would last would be an all stainless steel injector. Marelli make some that are aimed at being for Ducati's, but their maximum rated pressure is too low.
With simply straight methanol, they should be fine. As a heat absorber it's not going to be as effective as water, but the car should be more powerful (once tuned to take advantage of the methanol. Would really need the engine management system to reduce petrol delivery as methanol delivery increased to keep AFR's in the powerful range).
You may be able to experiment with different water/methanol percentages, but most people don't recommend more than 50% methanol.

I'm using the FJO variable duty cycle injector for my projects. What I did find is that they have a fairly narrow workable duty cycle. I played with 1 of them ages ago, so the numbers are probably off, but from memory, anything less than 30% duty cycle and the thing behaved weird. And it didn't seem to have a very progressive increase in flow with increased duty cycle.
