    Default AE 102R brake upgrade

    Hey everyone,
My corolla needs the fornt brakes fixed and atm I can get ahold of some levin twin piston calipers for $250.
Are these a direct bolt in to my car? or will i need rotors as well from the levin?
I either put levin calipers in with standard rotors or buy new slotted rotors and put ebc greenstuff pads in.
    Which would perform better?
    Thanks for the help

You will be better off with new rotors. Most of the time the old ones are too worn anyway. Do a search on the conversion. You need to buy another model rotor and have it redriled to suit. The diameter has to be reduced also. You can get rebuild kits for the calipers from sw20 mr2 turbos.

Have you compared the costs of Barry manon s brake kits ?

For an AE102, I wouldn't bother with the 2 pot callipers until you replace the engine and start driving the car to the limit of the stock callipers.
I'd start with slotted RDA rotors, good pads (ie. not a Super Cheap home brand special), good fluid and maybe braided lines if you have cash left over. You already have rear disc brakes and decently sized front callipers. The single pot front callipers in my AE101 Levin are fine for street so far (I use slotted rotors, braided lines and Endless SSY pads).

Then look at upgrading your rear (and maybe front) swaybar and installing a front strut brace (grab a 3 point one from a Levin, they are cheap and work really well). Maybe get the pillowball lateral arms from a Levin too to tighten the rear end up a bit while you're at it. Hell, I've got a stack of this stuff sitting around here as spare parts you can take for cheap if you want it.

Do that and you'll have a car that not only stops well, but handles well as well.
I did the above, and installed rear disc brakes into a mates AE101 Seca, and the difference was awesome.
