I have been considering one of these for mine

    http://www.spitronics.co.za/cms/enginemanagement.php

Cost of around $450 plus postage and a few peeps in Perth run them on both petrol/gas and dedicated gas. I've not heard anything bad and it does come with everything needed as I've had a few chats to the supplier. However my plans have changed after miss 16 stole my wifes 2.4TD Surf and killed it. So a UZ with auto is going in hers and I'll be selling mine and keeping the 2door for myself and get the wife a "Playdough"

Update - got my Spitronics gear from Sarth Efrika today. Looks like even i can fit it, went to u pull it and scored two coil plugs and waiting for new plug for the crank sensor to turn up already ot new inj plugs. Spitronics supplied a new 36-1 wheel; looms for power, injectors, idle and sensors, has coil igniter built in and is about as big as a digital camera! They supply a tuning disc and the ecu is programmed with a start up map, speaking of maps i got a MAP sensor to swap out the Karman Vortex VAF All for less than $500. Once i get organised i will take a few progress pics.

Pity they can't use the factory trigger setup
If u blow up a motor means pulling it apart
But I guess for 500 bucks its ok
Are u running an auto box
As u ll need something to control it

Auto box - I got a manual shift controller from MV Automatics here in Adelaide, 3 on the floor with a Hurst pro stick bang shifter and OD and convertor lock via switches. Should be gangs of fun! And hey if I blow it up Im gonna be pulling it to bits anyway.

Well I got the Spitronics setup, the package from South Africa included one ecu one idle control ecu, EFI loom, MAP loom, power relays, ignition loom and a couple more looms for lamda and crank with the 36-1 wheel; also a disc for laptop tuning and it came with a startup map. Next I spent a few weeks relearning how to solder and run wiring. last thursday I plugged in the laptop and found out you needed to install a driver for it to work. Install a driver! I thought that was me... OK all the sensors were sensing and I had power to injectors, coils, fuel pump and idle stepper motor but after several attempts still no go. I went back to the manual - and found out the ECU was not getting powered up so after a little diagnosing I found a bad connection to the fuse box. Now check the fuel pump and try again. NO exhaust so I figured this would be a short run, Carolyn came out after it fired up - after ten years sitting idle it fired up after two turns on a couple of injectors then a couple more. Stopped it and walked around looking for oil leaks etc; fired up again and started sounding less like a lawn mower and more like a car. Three more injectors woke from their slumber and then they all worked woo hoo. I have yet to tune it but ill wait till after the headers and exhaust are done. Next job wire up the manual shift box from MV get a tailshaft and i think finishing the brakes could be a good idea. Its geting there!

Based on how she started up, I'd take the injectors out and get them cleaned professionally.

50 % of import motors have sticky injectors
its not that they r dirty its just the fuel sticks em shut
the heat makes them come good sometimes
and ive never had to tell customers to get them cleaned
plus the 1uzs run so good i did get my inectors cleaned after 200 thou kms on motor and
before and after specs were the same

but in the end it is best to get the cleaned

The first 1UZ I had was running lean enough to have the exhaust glowing.
Had the injectors cleaned and it went back to running properly.
